Construction of Uttar Pradesh’s First Film City Near Noida to Begin Soon

According to a recent report by the Times of India, construction is expected to commence in January 2022.
Project Overview
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has proposed building the film city on a public-private partnership (PPP) model, with an estimated investment of Rs 6,000 crore. YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh revealed that preparations for the development of the film city are in full swing, following the approval of the detailed project report (DPR) recently presented to the state government by consultant CBRE South Asia Private Limited.

Film City Proposal Preparation
“The CBRE now has three weeks to prepare the proposal document, after which a worldwide tender will be issued allowing both domestic and foreign companies to participate,” Singh stated.
Selection and Agreement
The company selected to develop the film city in three phases will be finalized by December 31, with a 40-year agreement to be signed. Construction is anticipated to begin in January next year. Unlike a typical lease agreement, the chosen corporation will receive a permit to construct the Film City, ensuring a long-term commitment to the project’s success.
Phased Development
The expansive Film City, covering 1,000 acres and costing Rs 6,000 crore, will be developed in three phases:
Phase 1
The first phase will include studios, open areas, amusement parks, and villas, designed to create a vibrant and dynamic entertainment hub.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his ambition to construct a “world-class film city” in Uttar Pradesh. In line with this vision, 1,000 acres of land in YEIDA’s Sector-21 have been earmarked for this purpose.
